Microdosing LSD, ALD-52, 1p-LSD, 1cP-LSD
LSD is listed as a Schedule 1 drug everywhere in the world. Despite the illegal status of LSD, many people worldwide have benefited greatly from using this substance – either through therapeutic journeys, or as a microdose.
That’s why we believe it is important to provide reliable information about this practice. It’s up to you to make a well-considered choice while being fully aware of the risks.
The main reasons people microdose LSD are:
- It is sometimes more easily available than other substances; this is especially true outside of Europe
- It has been in circulation for decades and a good amount of scientific research has been done since the 1950s, thus the effect, dosage and risks (with higher doses) are known
- The effects, method of ingestion and duration of influence can be experienced as more pleasant than with other substances
However, the last reason is subjective. Experiences with microdosing LSD differ from person to person. That’s why you always have to listen to your own body and trust your own experience.
As mentioned before, LSD is a prohibited substance. If you don’t want to take any risks regarding legality, choose substances which are decriminalized, such as magic mushrooms in Oregon (and other US states to follow) and magic truffles in the Netherlands. LSD is available in the underground circuit in the form of liquid or as a blotter (paper strip). With the latter, liquid LSD has already been dripped onto a piece of paper.
If you choose to microdose LSD, it is a must to purchase an LSD test kit or to have your blotter tested at a testing service:
This way you can be sure that you actually have LSD in your possession. It happens (rarely, but it does) that other substances are being sold as LSD, including harmful ones such as DOB or 25i-NBOMe.
How Much Is a Microdose?
Microdosing LSD is based on 1/20 to 1/10 of a 100 micrograms (mcg) paper trip, so a microdose is usually between 5 and 10 micrograms. Blotters come in different strengths. Therefore, before anything else, it is important to determine how many micrograms of LSD your blotter contains.
NOTE: Many first time microdosers have thought they had found an easy solution: to simply cut the blotter into 10 or 20 equal pieces (although the piece of paper can be really tiny). However, there is a good chance that the substance is not evenly distributed over the paper, so in reality some of your microdoses will be minidoses, whereas the other pieces contain too little of a dose. Tricky!
Volumetric Dosing
To avoid the risk of your dosages being too high or too low, you can apply the “volumetric dosing” method. That is the only way to be sure that each dose has the same amount of LSD. Get the right supplies and in a few simple steps prepare your identical dosages which will last for at least 4 to 10 weeks.
This is how to do it:
- Purchase a 10 ml dark brown glass dropper bottle, a 1 ml syringe, and an LSD test kit
- Inject 10 ml of distilled/demineralized water or possibly alcohol into the bottle
- Soak the blotter(s) in the liquid
- Shake the bottle gently a few times and leave for at least 24 hours
The bottle is now ready for microdosing. Stored it cool and in case of using a transparent bottle, avoid exposure to light by wrapping it in tin foil.
Distilled water is not harmful to your health. It is important to note that there is a difference in fluidity between distilled water and alcohol. You can calculate how much mcg is in 1 ml as follows:
Distilled Water:
1 ml = 20 drops of distilled water
- 100 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml distilled water: 20 drops = 10 mcg
- 150 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml distilled water: 20 drops = 15 mcg
- 200 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml distilled water: 20 drops = 20 mcg
Tip: It’s most convenient and easy to put 200 mcg of LSD in 10 ml distilled water (this may mean that you put 2 blotters of 100mcg each inside the bottle). 200 drops of distilled water translates into exactly 10 ml. Now, 1 drop of distilled will contain 1 mcg lsd, so you can take 5 – 10 drops depending on your sweet spot.
Alcohol (Pure Ethanol/ethyl Alcohol or Vodka):
1ml = 40 drops of alcohol
- 100 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml alcohol: 40 drops = 10 mcg
- 150 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml alcohol: 40 drops = 15 mcg
- 200 mcg LSD in a dropper bottle with 10ml alcohol: 40 drops = 20 mcg
Tip: If you work with 200 mcg LSD diluted in 10 ml of alcohol, 2 drops will make 1 mcg of lsd.
If you were going to make a combination of distilled water and alcohol, first be aware of the ratio, and second, it is important to first test how many drops there are in 1 ml.
Important:
- Ideally, you don’t use tap water to dilute nor to mix the drops before ingestion. Tap water contains chloride, which destroys LSD, as well as the well-known analogues such as 1cP-LSD, 1P-LSD.
- (Sun)light also breaks down LSD, so store the bottle in a dark place (if the bottle is transparent, wrap it in aluminium foil).
Pay attention! The effects of microdosing LSD may vary per time and per person. Your experience can be influenced by your physical and mental condition, stomach contents, environment, and the strength of LSD itself. So never simply take the same microdose as someone else. Your ideal dose can really differ.
If you are in the European Union, you can order a set for volumetric microdosing here (without the active substance).
Accurate Microdosing
If you want to be sure that you microdose accurately, Research Chemicals can be a safer option for you. These substances are produced legally in a lab, which gives a guarantee of the potency they indicate, whereas LSD is being sold on the black market, a vendor will often tell you their supply is more potent than it actually is. Our partner shop sells ready-to-use 1cP-LSD bottles for microdosing (EU-customers only).
Differences in Microdosing: Lsd Versus Magic Mushrooms
LSD has a longer lasting effect than magic mushrooms. The sub-perceptual effect of a microdose of LSD can last for up to 10 hours, which makes the time of ingestion especially important. We certainly recommend that you take your microdose before 10:00AM in the morning.
Although the feeling created by these two substances might be similar, LSD works on the dopamine and serotonin receptors, while psilocybin only on the serotonin receptors.
Reaction to LSD
LSD is the most potent psychedelic that exists. The fact that the dose is indicated in micrograms (one thousandth of a milligram) says it all. It is difficult to determine exactly how much LSD a paper strip or blotter contains. This makes dosing small quantities extra tricky.
Some people are more sensitive to LSD than others and respond differently to the same doses. The threshold level (the amount at which people start to notice a mild psychedelic effect) varies from person to person and is usually between 10 and 50 micrograms.
Microdosers, when describing their experiences often report an increase in creativity, energy, problem-solving capacity and focus. But nonetheless, we believe this is a subjective experience. Like other psychedelics, LSD is also a non-specific amplifier. That means that, for example, your creativity may emerge when you work with art or music, but if you choose to have a good conversation with a loved one, there might be more emphasis on connection, reflection or emotions.
Risks of Taking LSD
The health risks of taking LSD have a psychological nature. LSD is not dangerous to the body or brain itself, but can pose psychological risks. In fact, LSD is one of the safest psychoactive substances because the difference between an active dose and an overdose is very large. Where one takes around 100 mcg to trip, the LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of the test animals) is estimated to be more than 1000 times higher. Moreover LSD does not cause damage to the body in both short and long term, and after 24-48 hours all the substance needed for one trip is completely removed from the body. Physical overdose is therefore almost not possible, but that certainly does not mean that – like many activities – taking LSD is completely risk-free.
